WordPress free blog or Google BlogSpot (Blogger)?

Which blog do you use? Free WordPress or Google BlogSpot? Both WordPress and Blogger are good in my opinion. But with Blogspot, you can put ads on it and use it to make money without having to pay a dime to those guys. But with Free WordPress, you can’t use it for advertising or SEO (to promote your sites with the blog) purposes. That is against their terms of service. And when they find out you are using it to make money or advertise products, they simply delete the blog without any warning. I didn’t know it, until one of my blogs got deleted. You need to pay them to use it for advertising.

Most people that are blogging with free WordPress blog are using it to make money, advertising products, and for SEO purposes. In fact, most of them don’t know that it is against WordPress’ Terms Of Service (TOS). The sad thing is, they learn that it is against the Terms Of WordPress when their blog has been archieved and  that has been informed them via Email by WordPress. Of course, you can get it up again by using the import feature to import all the posts and export the file to your own domain with your own hosting. But, that’s something not everybody likes. In my opinion, WordPress is better than blogspot for their Search Engine Optimization. What do you say?

Data Recovery Software Programs

Do you know you can recover data from your computer hard disk even if it was deleted from the Recycle Bin or if you deleted the data using Shift+Delete key? There are many software programs available on the Web that can recover your data safely and securely, both free and paid software. You can even recover your files after you formatted your Hard Drive or reinstalled Windows. By using these software programs you can easily recover deleted files emptied from the Windows Recycle Bin, accidentally deleted files, or lost due to the format or corruption of a hard drive, virus or Trojan infection, unexpected system shutdown or software failure.

The only requirement to recover your data successfully is that the data shouldn’t be overwritten. It means,to successfully recover the lost files no data should be downloaded to or replaced on your hard drive. It is because the data on your hard drive is stored in small memory locations, so even if the data is lost, the memory location where the lost data was previously stored is not written by other data, then you can still recover the data successfully. But if the memory locations that were used to store the data you are now trying to recover are overwritten with other data, you cannot recover your files, even if you managed to recover them, they wouldn’t be in a good state to reuse. So, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU SHOULDN’T DOWNLOAD OR TRANSFER OTHER DATA TO YOUR HARD DISK IF YOU WANT TO SUCCESSFULLY RECOVER YOUR DATA.

Hayao Miyazaki greatest director of animation?

Howls Moving Castle

For those who don’t know who Hayao Miyazaki is: Hayao Miyazaki (Japanese) is one of the best directors of animation films in the world. The co-founder of Studio Ghibli, a Japanese film studio that produces animation films, Mr. Miyazaki directed many animation films under Studio Ghibli that made the studio famous worldwide. The film “Spirited Away”, directed by Miyazaki was the first film to win an Academy Award (Oscar Award) in Anime. “Howl’s Moving Castle” was the other film that was nominated for Oscar but didn’t win it.

I am a big fan of his amazing Animation and his stories. The first film of him that I watched is “Spirited Away”. I like it so much that I still watch it once or twice in a month. The second best film that I like is “Howl’s Moving Castle”. It is really awesome. Some other movies that I like are “Kiki’s Delivery Service”, “Castle in the Sky”, “My Neighbor Totoro”, “Princess Mononoke”. I tried to to watch “Nausicaa of the valley of the winds” but couldn’t find the videos of the CD’s anywhere. Hopefully, I will find it somewhere and watch it. Another movie I haven’t watched yet is Miyazaki’s new film (and probably last film according to what they say) “Ponyo on the cliff, by the Sea”. I read mixed reviews about the film and am looking forward to experience the magic of Miyazaki’s animation.

RootKits and your system security

What are RootKits or Root Kits? RootKit is a program or set of programs designed by an intruder (Hacker) to hide their presence on your system, by which they can take control of the system without your knowledge. RootKits are designed to take root control (Administrator access) of a targeted system without the knowledge of the real administrator and perform some evil tasks like spying on your activities, personal information, and create a backdoor to your system, with which the attacker can later come back and take control of your system as an administrator.

In the beginning, Root kits were designed for genuine purposes, to take control of a unresponsive or failing system. But these days they are largely being used to get access to a system by intruders without the knowledge of the legitimate users of the computers. Rootkits are typically Trojans, which are used to steal sensitive information on your system and to create backdoors for future access. Most netizens still don’t have the required knowledge about rootkits despite the threat has existed for a long time. And not all common Anti-Virus programs can detect and remove them since they use advanced technology to hide their presence.

There are many Anti-rootkit software programs available on the net. Some of them are Sophos Anti-Rootkit remover, AVG Anti-Root Kit, Panda Anti-rootkit, IceSword, Dark Spy, and many more. Visit this site antirootkit.com/software/index.htm and do some research before you download a good anti-rootkit software. You’d better download a couple of good software programs and then use all of them one by one to find and remove any rootkits you may have on your system.

Futurama: I love Bender

Did you use to watch Futurama episodes? I have never watched those episodes, but watched the two films 1. “Futurama: Bender’s Big Score” and 2. “The Beast with a Billion Backs“. LOL, Those two are the most funniest films I have ever seen. I simply love Bender, more when he is pissed off. In the first two films, when ever Bender enters the scene, he sure brings some laughter. I am looking forward to watching the other two 1: “Bender’s Game” and 2. “Into the Wild Green Yonder“. According to what I gather, “Bender’s Game” is going to release on November 4th, 2008. I sure am expecting a lot from Bender in these two movies.

Man, I love Bender‘s voice and his facial expressions. And I love his dialogue delivery in situations like when Bender learns there is no legal Robot to protect the Robot Community he decides to kill himself and when Fry says that Bender killed him, Bender adds “Brutally Murdered“, LOL. Also when he says that he has never said “Sorry”,  even the individual letters that make the word, LOL. Bender is the most lovable and funniest animated character ever.

CCleaner, formerly known as Crap Cleaner, is a system optimization and privacy tool. If you are looking for more security, CCleaner also offers high security in secure file easing. In all, CCleaner (Crap Cleaner) is small application to make your Windows run smoother, faster and more efficiently.

Be careful online, while surfing the Internet!

You need to be very careful while surfing the Internet. Never visit any website by clicking on those stupid ad banners which read “You got a message”, “You got a mail”, “You are the lucky member to see this banner”, “Check your computer with our Anti-spyware” etc kind of messages. Always have a good anti-virus installed on your computer(I suggest Nod32 or Kaspersky). Also make sure your system is protected with a good anti-spyware program like “Trojan hunter”, “Grisoft AVG Anti-spyware (formerly Ewido, remember it is not the AVG Antivirus, It is AVG anti spyware, For an Antivirus AVG is not that good).

Also never visit any sites from the links that you got in your emails. In fact, never click on a link in your emails that have been sent to “Spam” folder by your email providers like Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, Rediff mail, Hotmail etc. Always try to download software from their official makers or from trustable websites like Download.com, Softpedia.com, Tucows.com, Filehippo.com etc. If you come across a new antivirus or anti-spyware (for that matter, any software) software and want to download it, please do a thorough search about the software on the Web and see if it is listed on famous download sites (list given above) and is safe to download and use.

It would be a better idea to install McAfee SiteAdvisor on your PC and make use of the information provided by them. The Most important thing is “If you are logged on an important website (your email account, your own website, your credit card company, your online banking account etc), neven visit any new website that you don’t know much about or never click on links which would take you to a new website. The reason for this is “There may be some unknown exploits in the services or websites you use and if there is one, when you visit a new website (bad, evil) they may create a back door to your accounts. There have been a lot of cases of this kind, where the users lost their personal information, their account, their net banking details, their domains and websites etc. So, be careful on the Web.

Kaspersky free online virus scanner

Kaspersky online virus scanner is a great tool for those who have other anti-virus software installed on their system and want to check their machine with another antivirus. It is a known fact that you cannot install and run multiple antivirus programs at one time, if you try to do that, they may conflict each other and mess up your system.

To run Kaspersky online scan on your computer you need to use Internet Explorer web browser from Microsoft and a Internet connection. Since the online scan uses ActiveX technology to run the scan on your computer Internet Explorer is compulsory. You can also scan a file on Kaspersky website under size 1MB. To make use of this online scan from Kaspersky you don’t need to uninstall your current Antivirus program. But it would be better if you can turn it off while you use this online scan.

To scan your PC with this online scanner, you first need to visit the site in Internet Explorer and then accept their terms of service and then download the necessary files and virus definition databases. At the time of writing this tutorial the size of definition files is a little over 50 MB. And once you have downloaded all the required files, you can then click on the options under “Scan” and then the scan will begin. Remember since it is an online scan, it may take a long time for the scan to complete, depending on the scan types you selected.

If you have selected “My Computer” to scan, it may take a couple of hours to complete, whereas if you simply select a “Folder” to scan, it would complete in a couple of minutes. While the scan is running, their should not be any interruption in Internet accessibility and you should not close the Internet Explorer window. And even though the scan has detected any Viruses, Spyware, adware, worms etc, the online scanner cannot delete them. you have to install an antivirus (Kaspersky anti-virus) program on your system to remove them.
